Parnaby throws no-hitter in UH softball win
Kaia Parnaby threw the second no-hitter of her career in the University of Hawaii softball team’s 6-0 victory over Marist tonight in the Chevron Spring Fling Tournament.
Parnaby, a junior left-hander, struck out a career-high 14 and completed her sixth shutout of the season in the win over the Red Foxes. She raised her record this season to 10-0 while dropping her earned-run average to 0.43.
The UH offense put together a five-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning with Leisha Li’ili’i, Makani Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu and Kelly Majam delivering run-scoring singles.
Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu added a solo home run in the sixth inning.
The Wahine (22-1), ranked 18th and 19th in this week’s national polls, continue tournament play against No. 1/2 California on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
