Hawaii loses to Long Beach State in volleyball
Harrison Carroll put down a career-high 19 kills and Steven Hunt added 18 but it was not enough as No. 14 Hawaii fell to No. 9 Long Beach State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match 27-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-22, tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Nick West added 10 kills and Nick Castello 18 digs for the Warriors (7-18, 4-16 MPSF), who saw their playoff hopes ended with their sixth straight loss.
Punahou graduate Taylor Crabb had 20 kills to lead the 49ers (13-12, 8-10).
Hawaii finishes the regular season next week with two matches at UC Santa Barbara.
