Skateboarder breaks car windshield in Makakilo crash

A 15-year-old skateboarder was in serious condition Monday night after being hit by a vehicle and shattering the windshield on Makakilo Drive near the H-1 freeway onramp, according to Emergency Medical Services transmissions.

The accident occurred at 7:42 p.m.

The skateboarder was riding down a hill and made a left turn in front of a car that was traveling up the hill at about 25 mph to 30 mph.

The force of the impact threw the skateboarder onto the hood, and he shattered the windshield with the right side of his body and broke through it. 

The teenager did not lose consciousness, according to bystanders, suffered a small cut to his forehead, multiple superficial cuts and pain to his right side.

The boy was taken by ambulance in serious condition to a hospital, an EMS supervisor said.
