A 38-year-old man died this morning from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night in Kailua-Kona.

Hawaii County police identified the victim as Caleb Wolfson of Kailua-Kona.

Wolfson was riding his motorcycle 10:22 p.m. Wednesday, heading eastbound on Henry Street, when he hit a concrete barrier and was thrown from the motorcycle at  Henry Street and Palani Road in Kailua-Kona.

Fire personnel transported him to Kona Community Hospital, where he died at 3:12 a.m. Thursday.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

This was the 11th traffic fatality this year, compared with seven at this time last year.
