Kamehameha grad Hardin drafted by Bears
Brandon Hardin, a Kamehameha graduate from Kahaluu and Hawaii Kai, was picked by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the NFL Draft today.
Hardin, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound defensive back, played at Oregon State and was selected with the 79th pick of the draft.
Due to injury, Hardin did not play in his senior season, except for the East-West Shrine all-star game, and was not invited to the NFL combine. But he impressed scouts at Oregon State’s pro day in March.
Hardin’s Kamehameha classmate, University of Hawaii defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga, might be picked as the draft concludes Saturday with rounds four through seven.
