An F for Hawaii support of abused keiki

Hawaii gets an ‘F’ for support of abused and neglected children in a report released today.

"A Child’s Right to Counsel: A National Report Card on Legal Representation for Abused and Neglected Children, was released today on Capitol Hill by First Star, a national organization, and the Children’s Advocacy Institute at the University of San Diego School of Law.

Advocates say abusers have more legal rights than the abused in many states.

Along with Hawaii, other states earning an ‘F’ were Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and Washington.

The three states graded at A+ were Connecticut, Massachusetts and Oklahoma.
