Injured woman airlifted from Kuliouou Ridge Trail
A woman was picked up by helicopter Friday after she sustained an injury in a fall while hiking Kuliouou Ridge Trail in East Oahu.
The woman, in her 30s, was hiking with two others when she slipped and fell about five feet and sustained a minor injury to her lower body, said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
About 10 firefighters responded to a 12:20 p.m. call because the woman couldn’t walk. Firefighters hiked about 15 minutes into the trail to reach the woman and placed her in a basket, then carried her by helicopter to a nearby park where paramedics were waiting.
Seelig said the woman was transferred to paramedics about 1:20 p.m.
