Downed power line closes portion of Waihole Valley Road
Hawaiian Electric workers are currently on their way to shut off power to a downed power line near 48420 Waihole Valley Road in Kaneohe, the Honolulu Fire Department said on Saturday.
Firefighters on-scene reported the line is possibly high-voltage, so part of the road was closed to traffic as a precaution, the department said.
A caller reported at 10:52 a.m. that she saw a tree branch fall onto the power line, causing it to snap and fall as well, according to the department.
