A Waianae woman was in critical condition following a single-car accident on Farrington Highway near Makua Beach Park Monday night.

Police said the woman’s vehicle was headed towards Kaena Point when it veered into a grassy shoulder, went up a hill and flipped over at about 10 p.m.

Paramedics took the woman to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said speed was a contributing factor in the crash. It is not known if alcohol or drugs were involved.

Police closed Farrington Highway at Makua Beach Park for about four hours while they investigated the crash.
