Colt Brennan is released from the main Honolulu police cellblock on July 26 in this file photo.

Former University of Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan had a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving a vehicle, when police arrested him in Kailua July 25, according to a police report with the state Driver License Revocation Office.

Police stopped Brennan shortly before midnight as he was driving in Kailua. He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and drug possession, and was released July 26 without charges, pending investigation.

The city prosecutor’s office will decide whether to charge Brennan after it receives the case from police, a spokesman said.
