Maui fire personnel rescued a 56-year-old woman off a cliff near Keanae.

The woman got separated from her kayak while snorkeling in shallow waters near Honomanu Bay Wednesday afternoon, a fire official said.

Her boyfriend, who was diving in the area, reported her missing at 3:30 p.m..

A fire helicopter and a rescue unit spotted the woman about a mile west of the area.

The woman was airlifted from the cliff area and returned to the beach at Honomanu. 

She was unharmed and required no medical attention, a fire official said.
