Former University of Hawaii basketball star Zane Johnson signed a one-year pro deal with the Fukuoka Rizing of the Basketball Japan League.
The 6-6 guard Johnson, who earned a sociology degree from UH last December, was one of the most prolific shooters in UH history. He set a single-season record for 3-points as a junior and became the school’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made.
Johnson had an NBA workout the Milwaukee Bucks during the summer.
Rizing finished fifth in last year’s Western Division standings. They lost in the playoffs in the Round of 16.
