Seasiders up to No. 10 in poll
Two wins to remain unbeaten in the conference have helped Brigham Young-Hawaii move up a spot to No. 10 in the latest AVCA Coaches Division II Women’s Volleyball Top 25.
The Seasiders (10-2, 5-0) have won their past nine, including the last seven in straight sets.
BYUH’s Chen named player of the week
Brigham Young-Hawaii sophomore outside hitter/middle blocker Shih Ting Chen earned player of the week honors in volleyball after leading the Seasiders to two wins last week.
Chen led the conference in scoring with 40 kills in six sets, hitting a PacWest-best .547.

Vulcans break through on road
Hawaii-Hilo spotted host Point Loma an early first-half goal, then rallied for three goals in the second half of a 3-1 win in a match in San Diego on Monday.
It was the first victory of the season for the Vulcans (1-7-1, 1-6-1), who got two goals from Vincent Muscarella within a six-minute span. Muscarella’s header in the 60th minute put UHH ahead for good, and Ian Watanabe added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute on a ricochet off the crossbar against the Sea Lions (2-8-0, 1-7-0).
Dixie State beats BYUH in final minutes
Eric Christensen scored on a free kick from 20 yards out with 77 seconds remaining to lift Dixie State to a 2-1 victory over Brigham Young-Hawaii on Monday in St. George, Utah.
James Puertas scored off a pass from Brett Waters in the 64th minute to tie it at 1-1 for the Seasiders (2-4-1, 1-4-1). The Red Storm improved to 5-6-1 and 4-3-1.
Cal Baptist drops Chaminade
Chaminade’s Sam Galloway scored early in the second half to tie the match at 1-1, but the Silverswords couldn’t hold on as host Cal Baptist pulled away to a 3-1 victory Monday in Riverside, Calif.
The Lancers (7-2-1, 5-1) outshot the Silverswords (1-7-1, 1-5-1) 11-2 in the first half, but could only get on the board, thanks to Chaminade goalkeeper Conor Knox. Cal Baptist took control midway through the second half, breaking the deadlock in the 75th minute before adding an open-net goal in the waning seconds.

Seasiders dump Red Storm
Korral Koehler and Terryn Soelberg each scored a goal to lead Brigham Young-Hawaii past Dixie State 2-0 in St. George, Utah, on Monday.
Abbie Fronk had an assist for the Seasiders (6-2-1, 4-1-1), and goalkeeper Megan McCain made eight saves.
The Red Storm dropped to 6-4-2 and 6-2-0.
Chaminade stays winless
Cal Baptist scored three goals in the first 17 minutes en route to a 4-0 victory Monday over Chaminade in Riverside, Calif.
The Lancers (6-2-1, 5-1-0) outshot the Silverswords (0-9-0, 0-7-0) 36-2.
Point Loma blanks Hawaii-Hilo
Kelly Christerson scored twice as Point Loma Nazarene shut out Hawaii-Hilo 4-0 in San Diego on Monday.
The Vulcans dropped to 3-8-0 overall and 1-7-0 in the conference, and the Sea Lions (8-2-1, 6-1-1) took over the league lead.
