A boogie board with a mesh bag and fish was found floating off Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor on Windward Oahu, triggering a search for a possible missing diver.

The discovery of a boogie board floating off Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor on Windward Oahu has triggered an extensive search for a possible missing diver.

The Coast Guard said the board, with a yellow mesh bag and a fish, was found about a half a mile off the harbor at 8:30 a.m.

A 45-foot boat from Honolulu and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Barbers Point were launched to conduct the search, the Coast Guard said.

Also searching are crews from the Marine Base in Kaneohe, city ocean safety and firefighters.

The boogie board has no identifying markings to help first responders locate the owner, who might be safe ashore.

Anyone with information concerning the float or possible diver in distress should contact the Coast Guard at 808-842-2601.
