Fire damages Hawaii island house, leaves front wall standing

A fire this morning left a Hawaii island house in Kau with just its front wall standing, fire officials said.

When firefighters arrived at the house fire in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, they found the house “fully involved in fire with only the front wall still standing with owner standing by the side of the road,” a news release said.

The Hawaii County Fire Department reported that no one was injured in the blaze at 92-8924 Paradise Parkway. The fire caused an estimated $120,000 damage to the 20-foot by 40-foot one-story house, fire officials said
