UH Manoa student reports lower campus assault

An assault on the lower campus early this morning has triggered a security alert at the University of Hawaii Manoa.

Campus Security said a male student was walking back to his room at the residence halls when three male suspects chased him and a fourth man grabbed him from behind at about 12:45 a.m. near the ROTC building on Lower Campus Road.

The suspects punched the student and cut him with an unknown object, campus security said.

The suspects fled out the Waialae Road gate.

Three suspects are described as men 18 to 20 years old weighing about 160 pounds with medium builds.

One suspect had shoulder-length hair and was wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt and jeans.

Two other suspects had crew cuts and wore t-shirts and jeans. One of the t-shirts had stripes, campus security said.
