The University of Hawaii softball team announced the signings of four players for the 2014 season on Thursday.
The Rainbow Wahine received letters of intent from two pitchers and a catcher/third baseman from California and Waimea standout Gaylan “Ulu” Matagiese during the early-signing period.

Brittany Hitchcock of Ocean View (Huntington Beach, Calif.) High School and Heather Morales of Indio (Indio, Calif.) High signed on to join the Wahine pitching staff. Hitchcock went 14-6 with a 0.95 earned-run average and 133 strikeouts with just 31 walks last season. She was named the Golden West League pitcher of the year. Lindsey Willmon of Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, Calif.) High will enter the program as a catcher/third baseman. She hit .448 with 23 RBIs last season.
