High surf advisory for Oahu’s east shores through Wednesday
A high surf advisory has been issued for east-facing shores of Oahu through 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Beach goers are urged to stay out of the water and well away from the shore break due to hazardous wave action.
The National Weather Service said an area of strong trade winds is building an east swell and will remain in place through Wednesday.
The Weather Service predicts 6- to 8-foot surf for east-facing shores and breaking waves will cause hazardous conditions in the surf zone, including dangerous rip currents.
