The Board of Water Supply is asking Leeward Coast residents from Honokai Hale to Hakimo Road to conserve water as crews repair a broken 24-inch water main.

Hakimo Road is closed between Waiolu Place and Farrington Highway as crews work to fix the main and repair the roadway.

The repairs could last until Sunday.

Motorists that need to travel on Hakino Road can enter and exit via Waiolu Place.

Residents are asked to use water sparingly to allow the system to refill reservoirs. Water should be used for cooking, drinking and personal hygiene only. Residents are asked to skip doing laundry, washing lawns or washing cars until the system is restored.
