Maui firefighters rescued a 25-year-old man who fell about 45-feet from a skyline at Kahoma Ranch above Lahaina Monday night.

A fire department spokesman said the victim was one of three men on motorcycles who trespassed on the ranch. He used a rope to slide down one of the lines but got stuck midway.

The victim held on for as long as he could, but eventually fell about 45 feet at about 6:14 p.m., the spokesman said.

Firefighters wrapped him on a board, taking precautions to protect his spine, and hiked him out of the valley.

An ambulance took him to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition.
