Electrical problems close Honolulu District Court
The state Judiciary closed Honolulu District Court this morning because of electrical difficulties and announced this afternoon courts would remain closed for the rest of today.
All cases scheduled for today are postponed. However, the Judiciary is hoping to reopen the courthouse Thursday morning.
The electrical problem affected elevator and escalator service, and water service above the 4th floor.
Court hearings scheduled for today will be rescheduled for a later date.
As a result of the outage, the Hawaii Supreme Court is extending by one day any district court matter with a filing or hearing due date of Jan. 2.
