J.J. Altobelli hit RBI singles in consecutive innings and Oregon completed a four-game sweep of Hawaii with a 4-2 victory on Monday at Les Murakami Stadium.

Altobelli finished with three hits for Oregon, which jumped a spot to No. 5 in this week’s Collegiate Baseball poll.

Closer Jimmie Sherfy pitched for the third straight day and recorded his second save. Kaeo Aliviado drew a leadoff walk to bring the tying run to the plate before Sherfy got Kalei Hanawahine to line into a game-ending double play.

Austin Wobrock went 3-for-3 with a double and Kaeo Aliviado hit a two-out RBI double for Hawaii, which fell to 0-4 for the first time since 2004.

Oregon starting pitcher Jeff Gold left the game with two outs in the fifth inning after he was hit on the back of his left ankle by a ball hit by Wobrock. He had to be helped off the field by teammates and fell one out short of qualifying for the win.

Senior Corey MacDonald took the loss for UH, allowing four runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts.

Reliever Andrew Jones retired the first eight batters he faced — striking out four — but left the game with an injury after giving up a single to Altobelli with one out in the ninth.

Up next for the Rainbows is a four-game series against No. 10 Rice starting Friday.
