Police arrest man, 36, suspected in Kalihi murder
Police have in custody a 36-year-old man suspected of assaulting and killing a man in Kalihi in January.
The assault allegedly occurred Jan. 20 in Kalihi on King Street. The 27-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries. Police said he died Feb. 18.
The medical examiner’s office identified the victim as James Simon and said he died of head injuries caused when he fell on a hard surface.
Police have not released motive for the crime.
The suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon in Waipahu on suspicion of second-degree murder.
