A study showing 30 to 40 percent of requests for private, nonemergency ambulance service are turned down in West Oahu has prompted a City Council member and the Emergency Services Department to support having a second private provider.
Emergency responders took a 19-year-old woman to a hospital in serious condition after her car crashed into a home on Kaneohe Bay Drive Thursday morning.
Emergency Medical Services said the incident happened at 10:10 a.m. at the 45-000 block of Kaneohe Bay Drive.
No one else was injured.
