Long Beach St. holds off Cal State Fullerton 75-66

ANAHEIM, Calif. >> James Ennis scored 15 points, Deng Deng had 12 and top seeded Long Beach State advanced in the Big West Conference tournament with a 75-66 win over Cal State Fullerton tonight.

Tied at 18 with 12:31 to play before halftime, Ennis hit back-to-back layups to spark a 23-13 run by Long Beach State (19-12) to end the first half with a 41-31 lead. The 49ers trailed only once in the contest when Alex Harris made a 3-pointer to make it 3-2 Titans in the first minute of the game.

Harris and Kwame Vaughn each had 19 points for eighth-seeded Cal State Fullerton (14-18), which had 18 assists as a team.

The 49ers are a perfect 3-0 against the Cal State Fullerton this season.

Long Beach State will play in the semifinals Friday against the winner of the No. 4 UC Irvine and No. 5 Hawaii game.
