Man charged with credit card theft
A 33-year-old man is charged with credit card theft after he allegedly tried to use the card that he had taken from a mailbox at an unidentified bank.
Police said Ernest Tavares, who did not give a local address, was seen looking through the mail and then allegedly used a stolen credit card at a bank on Monday.
Officers arrested him Monday in the McCully area.
Tavares was charged Wednesday with third-degree theft, unlawful possession of confidential personal information and fraudulent use of a credit card. His bail was set at $30,000.
