Farmers Insurance cuts isle staff
Los Angeles-based Farmers Insurance has announced 74 job cuts in Honolulu, beginning in 60 days, a company spokesman confirmed.
Eighteen people were notified this week that their positions would be eliminated in two months, whereas the remaining 56 positions will be cut over a longer time-frame, concluding with 22 positions that won’t be cut until the end of next year.
The job cuts represent roughly 30 percent of the company’s Hawaii workforce.
