Man, 19, charged in mugging outside Blaisdell Center
Prosecutors charged a 19-year-old Kapahulu man in the alleged robbery of six teens Thursday night off Ward Avenue in Honolulu with the help of younger teenage boys.
Richie Michael was charged Satruday with five counts of second-degree robbery, along with four minors, whose names are not released.
Police arrested Michael and the other teens at the Neil S. Blaisdell Center at 10:34 p.m. Thursday.
Police said Michael and four boys, ages 15, 17 and two 16-year-olds, approached a group of six younger teenage boys, ages 14 and 15, and demanded their property.
When they refused, the older teens used force to overcome them, police said.
Police located the suspects a short time later and arrested them on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
