The Honolulu Board of Water Supply will close the westbound lanes of Kalanianaole Highway near the Wailupe Fire Station from 7 p.m. tonight until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to repave an area affected by a water main break Monday.

A contractor will repave the three westbound lanes from Kaai Street to Waa Street.

At least one eastbound lane will be used to contraflow westbound traffic.

The lanes were closed Monday afternoon after an 8-inch water main broke. Crews repaired the pipe, near 5044 Kalanianaole Highway, and restored water service to affected customers at 2 a.m. Tuesday. The highway was reopened about 5:50 a.m. after temporary repairs were made.
