Two homeless men got into a fight Tuesday afternoon at a Kakaako park which ended with one man in the hospital with serious injuries and the other facing an assault charge.

Police said the two men know each other and were drinking in the park. The incident started with an argument at 4:20 p.m., which escalated into a fight. The 24-year-old suspect allegedly struck the 31-year-old victim on the head, police said. The victim was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital by paramedics.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
