The University of Hawaii-Hilo is expected to announce G.E. Coleman as its new head men’s basketball coach this week.

Coleman, who has been associate head coach at Central Washington University for six seasons, has told officials there that he has been offered and has accepted the Hilo job.

The 31-year old Coleman would succeed Jeff Law, who left UH-Hilo after 15 seasons in March to become head coach at Western New Mexico. Law was 208-188 with the Vulcans.

Coleman is a graduate of Central Washington and was also an assistant at Eastern Washington.
