Woman, 74, arrested for allegedly trying to steal $40,000
Police arrested a 74-year-old Kaneohe woman for allegedly trying to steal $40,000 from a 47-year-old woman.
Police said the older woman tried to deposit two $20,000 checks from a closed account on July 22.
Police explained that the suspect intended for the money to be wired before the checks were returned due to the account being closed.
She was arrested on suspicion of first-degree theft.
The 74-year-old was released Thursday pending further investigation.
