As Tropical Storm Flossie bears down on Maui, the county’s Civil Defense office has released a list of available shelters that will be open at 9 a.m. today.

They are: Hannibal Tavares (Pukalani) Community Center, Kamalii Elementary School, Hana High School, Lanai High School, Molokai High School, Kilohana Community Center, War Memorial Gymnasium, Lahaina Civic Center, and Kamalii Elementary School.

The last three shelters accept pets, officials said this morning. “If people bring pets, they must be contained in a kennel or carrying case, and bring their own pet supplies, county officials said.

“People must bring their own evacuation kits to the shelters as there will be no services provided,” they said.
