Man sees friend’s stolen car, calls police; Suspects arrested
Police caught two alleged car thieves Saturday after a witness saw a friend’s stolen car being driven around Waipahu, police said.
Officers arrested a 48-year-old Aiea man on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle, driving without a license, and second- and third-degree drug offenses, according to police records. His passenger, a 44-year-old Waipahu
woman, was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
The 29-year-old owner¹s friend notified police around 4:30 p.m. that he saw the stolen vehicle being driven by the suspects. They were identified and arrested about an hour later on Awalau Street, police said.
