Waianae traffic stops lead to felony arrests
Two motorists were pulled over in Waianae for apparent traffic violations in separate incidents and ended up facing criminal charges as the vehicles had been reported stolen.
The first incident occurred at 11 a.m. at Paakea and Mailiili roads. The driver, a 39-year-old Waianae man, was arrested on suspicion of car theft, driving without a driver’s license and illegal use of auto plates and contempt.
The second incident occurred after 7 p.m. at Mailiili Road and Farrington Highway. The suspect, a 37-year-old Waianae man, also faces car theft, driving without a driver’s license and several drug charges after police found illegal drugs in the car. The car was stolen from a flooring company.
