A Circuit Court jury resumed deliberations this morning on the murder charge against State Department special agent Christopher Deedy.

The jury deliberated Thursday afternoon and two full days Monday and Tuesday without reaching a unanimous verdict.

Deedy, 29, is charged with murdering Kollin Elderts, 23, of Kailua, in a shooting early Nov. 5, 2011 at the McDonald’s Kuhio Avenue restaurant in Waikiki.

The panel’s options are either acquitting or convicting Deedy on the charge that carries a life term with parole.

The jury does not have the option of returning a conviction on a lesser offense of manslaughter.
