Fire risk prompts red flag warning for state
A red flag warning is in effect for the Leeward and southern coasts of all islands until 6 p.m. this evening.
Strong trade winds and low relative humidity have combined to critical fire weather conditions, officials at the National Weather Service said.
Winds from the northeast are currently blowing in at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph while relative humidity is unusually low at around 40 percent, weather officials said.
