Barbers Point crash injures 2, 1 critically
Speed may have been a factor in a single-car crash in Campbell Industrial Park Saturday that left the passenger critically injured.
Police said the 18-year-old Waipahu man driving a 1999 Honda Accord may have been speeding when his car struck the center median, climbed over it, slid across the grass and collided with a tree.
The front seat passenger, a 22-year-old Waipahu man, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition with blunt force injuries.
The driver was in serious condition when he was taken to Queen’s.
Police said the accident occurred at 8:54 a.m. in the rain when the car was heading south on Kalaeloa Boulevard 340 feet north of Malakole Street.
Police said the driver was wearing his seat belt, but did not know whether the passenger was.
