Fisherman who drowned off Pearl City Peninsula ID’d

The Medical Examiner’s Office says a 60-year-old Pearl City man drowned while fishing Sunday on the Pearl City Peninsula.

The victim was identified as Gerald Wond, of Pearl City. His death was classified as accidental.

Honolulu firefighters were called to Pearl City Peninsula after a report of a body floating about 20 feet from shore Sept. 15.

Witnesses saw him fishing from shore earlier in the day.

Police say there were no signs of foul play.
