UH running back will have surgery on foot
University of Hawaii running back Joey Iosefa will undergo a foot-stabilizing procedure that will require about four weeks of recovery, head football coach Norm Chow confirmed today.
Iosefa missed the Rainbow Warriors’ training camp and first two games because of a fracture in his left foot. He suffered the injury while training in July.
At the time, Iosefa opted for non-surgical rehabilitation.
Iosefa said he “tweaked” his left foot on UH’s opening drive of a 31-9 loss to Nevada this past weekend.
This time, Iosefa decided to undergo a procedure in which a pin will be inserted into his left foot.
There is a likelihood Iosefa will be ready for the two-game road trip against Utah State and Navy in early November.

“We tried (non-surgical rehabilitation),” Chow said. “It didn’t work. Let’s get it done from here. (The procedure) will fix him once and for all.”
UH plays 25th-ranked Fresno State at Aloha Stadium this Saturday.
