Tropical Storm Narda, which formed Monday in the Eastern Pacific, is already starting to weaken.

Located 1,185 miles west-southwest of Baja, California as of 5 a.m. Hawaii time, the storm’s maximum sustained winds have decreased to around 45 mph and are expected to continue to weaken over the next 48 hours, according to officials at the National Weather Service. It is expected to become a tropical depression on Wednesday.

Although it’s moving west-northwest at around 13 mph, the storm’s forward speed is expected to slow later today, forecasters said.
