Police reopened South King Street between University Avenue and Kuhio Elementary School after removing a suspicious package Thursday afternoon.

Police said the closure was a precautionary measure while the package was removed, according to a police advisory, which was issued at about 2:08 p.m.

The street reopened about 40 minutes later.
