LAS VEGAS >> UNLV head football coach Bobby Hauck has agreed to a new three-year contract that will take him through the 2016 season.

The terms of the deal, which was announced Wednesday, weren’t immediately released. The contract still must be approved by the Nevada Board of Regents.

The Rebels (6-5) are bowl eligible this season for the first time since 2000.

The season wraps up Saturday when UNLV hosts San Diego State at Sam Boyd Stadium. If the Rebels win, it will be only the third time the team has racked up seven wins in nearly three decades.

Hauck is 12-37 in his fourth season with UNLV, and is 92-54 overall as a head coach.
