Boy, 15, assaulted by 7 men at UH-Maui in Kahului

Authorities are investigating an alleged assault on a 15-year-old boy Saturday night at the University of Hawaii-Maui campus.

The university issued an alert about the alleged assault Monday. The 15-year-old, who was not a university student, along with his father reported the assault this morning to university officials.

The boy said he was crossing the campus near the Laulima Building to get to his residence at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, when he was assaulted by seven men, according to the university’s campus security. The boy said the assault was unprovoked. The teenager sustained injuries but required no hospitalization, campus security.

The university is asking the public to contact the university’s campus security at 984-3255, if they have any information about the assault.
