Honolulu Police Department’s auto theft detail is investigating the theft of a city flatbed truck and $71,000 in street cleaning equipment from a Chinatown park last week.

The theft occurred Dec. 1 from Beretania Park where the truck was parked. The truck and the nearly one-year-old power washer was discovered missing Dec. 2.

The city Department of Facility Maintenance is now using an older refurbished power washer to clean the streets in the Chinatown area.
