2 men arrested in separate Waikiki theft cases
A 26-year-old man attempted to steal from a 31-year-old woman in the Waikiki area Thursday afternoon, police said.
The man allegedly attempted to take personal property from the woman’s possession around 4:30 p.m., according to police documents. He was located and arrested 35 minutes later on suspicion of second-degree attempted theft.
At the same time at a nearby store, a 57-year-old man was caught shoplifting, according to police documents.
Police said further investigation revealed that the man had previously trespassed the same store. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary around 5:30 p.m.
