Jerry Rice helps bless East Kapolei regional mall site

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice helped bless land in East Kapolei today long planned for a regional shopping center named Ka Makana Alii.

Rice was invited by project developer DeBartolo Development LLC, a Florida-based company founded by former San Francisco 49ers owner Edward J. DeBartolo Jr. for whom Rice played for and helped win three Super Bowls.

Construction of the $500 million mall with 1.4 million square feet is expected to begin late this year.
