Wahine basketball team takes fourth straight
Five Hawaii players scored in double figures as the Rainbow Wahine won their fourth straight Big West Conference game with an 85-59 decision over UC Irvine tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
UH (10-7, 4-1 Big West) heads into a four-game road trip with serious momentum. The Wahine shot 52.2 percent from the field and held Irvine to 33.3 percent.
The Wahine outscored the Anteaters 50-22 in the paint and 28-13 off the bench as part of their season-high offensive outing.
Senior wing Shawna Kuehu led the way with 18 points and six rebounds, and even made two 3-pointers.
Reserve wing Ashleigh Karaitiana scored all of her 12 points in the first half as UH led 48-29 at halftime.
