UAB junior Alex Luna allowed five hits over 7 2/3 scoreless innings and Matt Morse went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Blazers to a 5-0 win over Hawaii on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Luna (4-0) allowed just one UH batter to reach third base to help the Blazers (17-6) even the series against the Rainbow Warriors (10-12) at one game apiece.

The 6-foot-5 right-hander struck out six and didn’t allow a walk to better opposing starter Scott Squier. The UH left-handed tied a career high with nine strikeouts but lasted only six innings, throwing 108 pitches. Squier (2-1) allowed five hits and three runs, with two coming on a two-out error by third baseman Juliene Jones.

Kaeo Aliviado singled for one of five hits to extend his hitting streak to six.

The series continues Saturday night at 6:35.
