Big Island police have charged a 39-year-old Kailua-Kona man in connection with gunfire incidents at his home and at a resort parking lot of Saturday.

Officers responding to reports of shots being fired in the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Kona found Robinson seated in a rental vehicle. Robinson allegedly fired numerous shots into the air and threatened the officers as they approached.

No one was injured and no damage was reported.

Police later learned that shots had also been reported at Robinson’s apartment off Kakahiaka Road in Kailua-Kona. No injuries and no damage was reported in that incident.

Detectives executing a search warrant discovered two handguns, a rifle, and ammunition from Robinson’s vehicle, as well as a handgun and ammunition from his apartment. Spent handgun casings were found inside the apartment, which sustained gunshot damage to its interior.

Robinson was charged Monday with first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree reckless endangering, second-degree reckless endangering, third-degree criminal property damage and four firearms-related offenses. His aggregate bail was set at $123,000.

His initial court apparence is scheduled for Tuesday.
